Apples are back in the limelight!
Apples are a great source of fibre, vitamin C, and several health-protective plant compounds called polyphenols. New research suggests that the fiber and polyphenols team up with gut bacteria to create an environment that may help reduce cancer risk. Most of the fibre in apples is soluble in nature, which can help manage blood sugars and support heart health. Add apples to your grocery list today!
Health, happiness, and whole-grain oats
. Eating whole grains is an easy way to add fibre to your diet. Cancer prevention guidelines recommend a daily intake of at least 25 grams. Just a ½ cup of whole-grain oats provides 4 grams of fibre, which gets us closer to meeting that daily goal. It's also worth noting that it boosts our protein intake by 8 grams, leaving us feeling satisfied and nourished!
