We welcome the involvement of those who conduct cancer survivorship research, as well as health care professionals, research administrators, cancer survivors, advocates, students, and others who share ELLICSR’s commitment to improve the health and quality of life of all cancer patients and revolutionize the cancer experience
ELLICSR offers three categories of research membership:

Core Member: A Core Member of ELLICSR is a researcher whose primarily affiliation is with ELLICSR and the Princess Margaret Cancer Rehabilitation & Survivorship Program. Please note that Core Memberships are exclusively available to ELLICSR team individuals.

Associate Member: An Associate Member of ELLICSR is a researcher whose primarily affiliation is with another Hospital or University department or program.

Affiliate Member: An Affiliate Member of ELLICSR is anyone who has a demonstrated interest and activity in survivorship scholarship.
Core Member
Criteria:
- Hold a University faculty appointment, with protected time for research or a tenure track appointment
- Engaged in a program of research that is relevant to the ELLICSR mission
- Primary affiliation is with ELLICSR and the Princess Margaret Cancer Rehabilitation & Survivorship Program
Expectations:
- Continued engagement in survivorship research as a primary area of academic focus.
- Sustained contribution to the intellectual culture of the ELLICSR community by engaging in a rich program of research.
- Sustained contributions to the social culture of the ELLICSR community by regular attendance at research rounds, scientific meetings, and participation in ELLICSR committees
- Annual reporting of academic activities for the ELLICSR annual report.
Benefits:
- ELLICSR scholars are part of the listserv and will be invited to all events of ELLICSR
- Office and student space at ELLICSR (as negotiated)
- Access to meeting space and audiovisual resources of ELLICSR (as negotiated and when available)
- Access to Travel Award competition (2x per year)
Procedures:
- ELLICSR Core Scientist positions are only available when a call for applications is posted or at the invitation of the Director of ELLICSR.
- The ELLICSR Appointment committee will review applications and will make an appropriate recommendation to the Senior Management committee
- Core Scientist positions will be subject to annual review of activities and productivities based on the expectations outlined above and as per UHN/OCI policy.
Associate Member Application
An Associate Member of ELLICSR is a researcher whose primarily affiliation is with another Hospital or University department or program, but who contributes to the goals and objectives of ELLICSR through active participation in research programs and/or other academic activities of the unit.
Criteria:
- Hold a University faculty appointment with protected time for research
- Engaged in a program of research that is relevant to the ELLICSR mission
Expectations:
- A bilateral relationship whereby the Associate Scholar benefits from membership while promoting the activities of ELLICSR to colleagues nationally and internationally
- Annual reporting of academic activities as part of the ELLICSR annual report
- Leading or collaborating in ELLICSR research programs
- Acknowledge support of ELLICSR in relevant academic presentations and publications
- Participation in ELLICSR research related activities including the bi-monthly research seminar
Privileges:
- These will be specifically negotiated with the ELLICSR Senior Management committee.
- ELLICSR Associate Members are part of the listserv and will be invited to all ELLICSR events
- Associate members will be profiled on the ELLICSR website
- Access to meeting space and audiovisual resources of ELLICSR (as negotiated and when available)
- Access to Travel Award competition (2x per year)
Procedures:
- Letter of request from applicant to the ELLICSR Appointment Committee along with an up-to-date curriculum vitae.
- The Appointment committee will review these materials and make recommendation for appointment at this level or to a different level within ELLICSR.
- Appointment approved by ELLICSR Senior Management committee.
- Appointments will be for 3 years with review by the Appointment Committee of activities and productivities based on the expectations outlined above for reappointment.

Affiliate Member Application
Criteria:
Affiliate membership to ELLICSR is offered to the following:
- Administrative and clinical staff and students of the University of Toronto, UHN, or other collaborating hospitals/universities who have demonstrated interest and activity in survivorship scholarship
- ELLICSR community partner members, cancer survivors, family members, friends and caregivers who have demonstrated an interest and activity in survivorship scholarship
Expectations:
- Engagement in cancer survivorship scholarship as witnessed by participation in research or other academic activities of ELLICSR
- Participation in ELLICSR events – i.e. research rounds, Community Connections, team meetings.
- Provide annual update of academic activities for inclusion in the ELLICSR annual report.
