Eating well may look different if you are experiencing side effects of cancer or cancer treatment such as surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or medications. Possible side effects include:
- Appetite loss
- Constipation
- Diarrhea, gas and /or bloating
- Fatigue
- Nausea
- Sore mouth or throat and swallowing problems
- Taste changes
These side effects may make it hard to eat well. Certain foods can help you manage side effects. Eating well can help you maintain your strength, energy, and sense of wellbeing. Talk to your doctor, health care team, or registered dietitian to make sure you’re getting the nutrients you need.
