Chocolate cheer. Yes, it’s true. Eating small amounts of good quality dark chocolate can deliver health benefits. Choose dark chocolate that is 70% or higher in cocoa content. Higher-percentage dark chocolate is richer in nutrients and antioxidants compared to chocolate with a lower cocoa percentage. They also contain less sugar.
Peanut butter benefits. When buying peanut butter, look for brands that have the fewest ingredients. In fact, only one ingredient is needed - peanuts. These healthier brands contain plant protein, healthy fats, and fiber. They are also low in sugar. Two tablespoons contain 8 grams of protein, 3 grams of fibre and 190 calories. Enjoy peanut butter in small amounts.
Health, happiness and oats. Whole grain oats are loaded with fibre. One cup provides 9 grams of fibre and 15 grams of protein. The main type of fibre in oats is ‘soluble’ fibre. Soluble fibre helps to keep our heart healthy and the friendly bacteria in our gut happy.
