Oats – the smooth operator. Oats contain several health protective compounds including soluble fibre. Soluble fibre helps manage diarrhea and constipation. It soaks up the extra water in the GI tract forming a gel that lessens diarrhea. It also softens stool to promote regular bowel movements and relieve constipation. In either case, staying hydrated is necessary for soluble fibre to work properly.

Adding a small amount of ginger to foods and beverages not only enhances flavour, but it can also provide several health benefits like improved appetite and digestion. For some people, ginger helps reduce symptoms of nausea.
